New England BioLabs (NEB) was founded in the mid-1970s as a collective of scientists committed to developing innovative products for the life sciences industry. The laboratories on their main campus in Ipswich, MA more closely resemble those of a research institute than a biotech company and are quickly becoming close to their useful capacity.
As a result, BushWang is assisting NEB with their current expansion of their research and production facilities in the adjacent North Shore town of Rowley, MA. Their new 35,000 sf facility will consist of ISO 8/Class 100,000 cGMP clean room production areas, BL-2 research space, support areas, staff offices, conference/break zones, and administrative space. Additionally, the facility will be LEED-certified as part of NEB’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the environment.
This Rowley Expansion Project is currently in the final stages of construction and is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2018.
